Pick up stitches from stockinette or rib pattern - Maschen aufnehmen aus glatt rechts oder Rippen

It is easy to pick up and knit stitches from a cast on edge:

from stockinette / von glatt rechts:

Insert right hand needle into the V to obtain a continuous stockinette pattern.

Get yarn from the back and draw it through the hole onto your knitting needle. The stitches will be displaced by 1/2 stitch

Mit der rechten Nadel in die Masche einstechen und den Faden von hinten auf die Nadel holen.

immer in das V einstechen, damit das Muster nicht unterbrochen wird. die Maschen sind um 1/2 Masche versetzt.

From rib pattern / von Rippenmuster:

Insert right hand needle into the reversed V to obtain a continuous rib pattern.

Get yarn from the back and draw it through the hole onto your knitting needle.

Immer in das verkehrte V einstechen, damit das Rippenmuster nicht versetzt wird; die Maschen schauen voneinander weg (V und V auf dem Kopf stehend)
